No new page this week. I need to focus on finishing up calendar art! I got the rest of the art to the coloring phase, so now I am rendering them like mad.

Paige Coffer has been assisting me with the rough shading for these, you can read her webcomic, The Legend of Ruach here! (There are lots of familiar faces in the comments over there!)

The Silver Eye 2020 Secret Santa is still open for sign ups! You can do so on Deviantart or Tumblr. The deadline to sign up is Dec 2nd.

Bear story #3: The ranger lady who gave the beach goers a debriefing about bears approached to tell us that according to the tracker, Yellow 32 was still in the area, so be on the lookout. She laughs at my doodles and takes a picture of them to show the other park rangers. Later that day at the actual picnic area we ate my sister’s birthday dinner. My sister, nieces, and I, FOOLISHLY opted to go on a little walk along the river. We hear distant clamor, but assume it is a wedding ceremony happening on the beach.

When we return to our family we found out that, no, none other than Yellow 32 had paid them a visit! (This is the worst of his crimes, visiting while I was not present.) What happened was, my little brother spotted Yellow 32 coming towards the picnic table from about 40 feet away. To alert the rest of the family, my brother says,

"bear.     bear.     bear."

Which sounded exactly how I had said it in the previous bear story, so my mom’s panic may have been well-warranted. Once my brother added in a gesture pointing at the bear, the rest of my family caught on. This time, they knew what to do and were prepared. Everyone yelled. Mom took up a pot and pan and started banging them with all her might. Dad came at the bear to scare it further away. Mom started yelling louder at dad to come back than anyone was yelling at the bear. And so Yellow 32 moseyed back into the woods once again. The pot and pan were so mangled and dented from being clashed together that they had to be thrown out. The only bear related casualty that day.
