Here is another scene with Melete and Noah. It was for Spoiler level Patreons but I have set it to public as a treat and also because the things it spoils have mostly been revealed in-comic at this point.

And at least Melete apologizes in this scene!

Rest in peace, Christopher Tolkien and Roger Scruton.

My dad read all the way through The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings aloud to me and my siblings, at least 5 times over while we were growing up. It is ingrained in my soul so much that it’s hard to make fanart for because it’s almost borderline sacred. I’m so grateful we had Christopher Tolkien who cherished his father’s unpublished works enough to bring them to the world at large.

I know about Sir Roger Scruton mainly from his academic documentary Why Beauty Matters. It’s in full on YouTube here (Content warning, it shows a ton of artworks, and there is occasional nudity therein. I think that’s why decided not to share the documentary earlier)  This is a part I most enjoy, where he calmly drags the architecture of modern Reading. I relish that artsy snootiness. (the bit runs for about 3 minutes, ending around minute 20) (That part does not show nudity, though arguably worse: it shows brutalist architecture) I feel like it’s a must-watch for artists at some point in their lives, and a good-watch for everyone, really. Because beauty, and the cultural movements that have opposed it, is something that affects us all.
