New Apen painting!

I will be honest, these last few days I have been on a blood sugar roller coaster of nightmares and I do not feel too good and I think the art in this page definitely suffered from that but I don’t want to be a Debby Downer. On the plus side, this scene is nearing its end and I look forward to the change of scenery!

I’m buckling down to finish the last character paintings for people who did TSE’s secret santa. I did 3 this week but I’m pasinf out posting them. You can see Apen’s here, Idony’s by voting TWC, and one for Avidan (plus details about my painting and planning process) for Behind the Scenes patrons. They’ll all be posted to the General Internets eventually, though.

Chris Oatley (previously Disney artist who is now running his own online art school) and Lora Innes (of The Dreamer webcomic) have launched Oatley Academy Live, a course for visual storytellers. I mean, you can read their pitch about it, but I know a lot of TSE readers are interested in storytelling or starting/making webcomics, and I think this course will be an invaluable resource for developing a story/webcomic! I will be working through the course with either the TSE prequel as my project or a mini series comic idea I’ve been wanting to do. I haven’t decided yet.

I’ve been meaning to update the Links page to add the webcomics Space Boy and Anacrine Complex which I recommend and have been enjoying immensely lately! The Newman webcomic’s Kickstarter is down to its last hours, it’s a modern fantasy romantic comedy that you might be interested in so I thought I’d share!
